ZTE BTS Card details

Friends, I am working in telecom company. I have worked on both Ericsson and ZTE BTS. Here I am explaining the basic idea of cards working in ZTE BTS.

ZTE BTS Cards

There are many cards in the zte bts. Following cards are installed in a ZTE bts.
1. PM Card
2. CC Card
3. FS Card
4. BPK Card
5. UBPG Card
6. SA Card
7. FCE Unit
8. RSU Card

I am explaining some of them in detail.

PM Card
As it is clear from the name this card is the Power module which supply power to the BBU (Baseband Unit) panel. PM cards are two in numbers for redundancy.

CC Card
This is Control card of the zte bts. This is the CPU of the system. It contains the software for the complete bts. Whenever the alarm software runs abnormally occurs then you need to upload mo file in this card. It has one ETH0 port which is connected to the media cable of the network. Debug port of this card is used for configuration of the BTS.

FS Card
This card has six optical module. In these optical module SFP of rating 1.25 G or 2.67 G are used for connection with RSU60 or RSU82. This connection is provided by optical patch cord cables. Sometimes these cables are damaged and alarm of RRU Link broken is generated.

BPK Card
This card is Baseband processing card for K band (WCDMA band). When there is problem is WCDMA then you have to change this card.

UBPG Card
It is abbreviated for Universal Baseband Proceesing unit for GSM band. This card is used for 2G services. Generally this card doesnt have any fault in the long run.

SA Card
This card is used for extending external alarms of the BTS e.g. Mains fail, DG on load, battery low, high temperature, door open, DG battery low. This card also has PCM if you have to run your site on E1 media.

FCE Unit
This is Fan Unit which controls the temperature of the ZTE BTS. There are two fan unit for the bts one for the RSU Card and other for the BBU Panel.

RSU Card
This are Radio Unit for different bands. RSU82 is used for 900 MHz band while RSU 60 is used for C sector. These cards are connected to the FS card via optical patch cords. The output of these cards are connected to the feeder cables of the antenna ports.
