How to configure Ericsson minilink
Hello friends, this tutorial is for those who are working with ericsson minilink. In this guide i am going to tell you how to configure ericsson minilink and how to troubleshoot minilink alarms.
To configure ericsson minilink all you guys need is a software named Ericsson minilink manager.
Steps for Ericsson minilink configuration
1. Open the Ericsson minilink manager.
2. It will ask for password to enter the configuration, password is 1111 (four times one).
3. Connect your com port cable to O&M port of the MMU/SMU unit.

4. Click on Network> Scan local
5. The default view of the minilink screen will come.
6. Right click on the id like XYZ3, here you will have 3 options. First one is traffic configuration.
7. Click on traffic configuration and select the E1 you need to open. You can check how many as you needed.
8. Now the second option is Hop Setup. In this window you have to configure ODU Frequency, ODU transmit power. Transmit power of the ODU must not be selected more than 15 dB.
9. Third one is Hardware setup. In this you need to select your hardware whether you are using 1 MMU or 2 SMU and like that.
Now your configuration is complete.
Check Rx level if it is below -50 dbm then it is ok. Your traffic will run otherwise align the anteena as per Rx level of the ODU. There will be a cross mark in the picture where alarm exist. BER(Bit error rate) should also be less than 10e-6.
