How to speed up your internet connection

How to increase the speed of your internet connection in windows

In this post I am telling you how you can speed up your internet connection. Many internet users face the problem of getting slower speed even if they have a good internet plan. They pay for better internet speed but the internet speed sucks!

In fact we cannot increase the speed of the network or internet plan you are using but you can speed up your internet connection if your internet is being used by background applications and software.

So to solve this problem all we need to do is to stop those updates that decrease your internet speed. By turning off the automatic updates of many applications, software and processes you can speed up your internet connection.

By default all the applications will automatically updated. So as you connect to your internet connection they start to update automatically. You have to find out all the software or applications which updates are set to automatic and turn off their updates.

10 Steps to speed up your internet

We are providing you a list of the software which are by default set to update automatically and how to turn the updates off.  I am using windows 7.

1. The first one is the operating system of your computer i.e. Windows 7, windows 8 and whatever your operating system is it will by default update automatically and decrease your speed. To stop windows update. Goto my computer properties. In the left bottom click windows update then change settings and select never check for updates .

2.  Now the second application Mozilla firefox is set to update automatically. To turn off update Goto Tools>options>Advanced> updates
Select the option never check for updates.

3. Now check your antivirus program and turn off automatic update for both the program and the virus definition. I am using avast Goto settings>updates> Click settings under virus definition and select manual update. Now click settings under the program and select manual update.

4. Always exit utorrent otherwise it will also use your internet to download the torrent.

5. Turn off the automatic updates of mozilla firefox add-ons.

6. Notice by visiting youtube if the video is automatically playing. This will also start downloading the youtube video in the background and use your internet traffic.

7. Increase your broadband plan take a better plan if you use internet daily.

8. Now many internet providers are using fiber optical, take a plan which use fiber optical cable internet speed is very good on fiber optical cable. My choice is BSNL ftth (Bharat fiber plan) which work best in my country i.e. India.

9. Internet speed also depends on the telephone line condition if you are using a wired network from broadband service provider. If you  are facing low internet speed continuously check your telephone line checked from your internet service provider.

10. Sometimes the modem of your broadband is also doing the speed issue, so check it also and try to purchase a better one.

I have listed 10 steps to speed up your internet, If  you know any other method to increase internet speed comment below to share. Thanks!
your comments will be appreciated.

But if you have your mail account in gmail, then how you will you outlook for the mail service? There are two options:

1) first is you need to sign up in microsoft account and then use outlook.
2) second option is to configure your gmail account in the outlook.

In the first option you will have to tell your mail contacts that your email has changed. So its better to use the second option. When I tried to configure my gmail account in outlook it took me a lot of time. But I dont want you to do so. Therefore in this post I am submitting how you can configure your gmail account in outlook. Its a little bit tricky. Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server - requires TLS or SSL: smtp.gmail.com
Use Authentication:         Yes
Port for TLS/STARTTLS:     587
Port for SSL:         465

Server timeouts         Greater than 1 minute, we recommend 5

Full Name or Display Name:     [your name]

Account Name or User Name:     your full email address (including @gmail.com or @your_domain.com)

VLOOKUP Formula in excel with example

How to use VLOOKUP function in excel

VLOOKUP formula allows the merging of two sheets using a common field to match data.
Excel has many important functions which save your precious time when you work on the data you have. VLOOKUP is one of these important formula. With VLOOKUP formula you can merge two sheets with a common column, which means you don’t need to type the data again for the same column value.

Points to remember for VLOOKUP formula

It is a good practice to have both the sheets on the same excel file.
Consider the file in which the master data is present as master sheet and to where the data of other columns are to be copied using VLOOKUP formula is considered to be new datasheet.
The same column in both the files must be in the 1st column otherwise. The VLOOKUP function will not work.

VLOOKUP Formula parameters

There are total four parameters for the VLOOKUP function to configure:
1. lookup_value:  it is generally the address of the 2nd cell of the common column in both the sheet.
2. table array : it is the range of selected data from which you need to do VLOOKUP in the new datasheet.
3. col_index_num: it is the index number of the column which data you want on your new datasheet.
4. range_lookup: in this tab you can either enter true or false. If you enter true it also copy the approximate value. If you enter false it will only show data when there is exact match in the same column otherwise it will show you  #N/A.
We have included two pictures of our sheets master datasheet and new datasheet in figure 1 and 2 respectively.

VLOOKUP FORMULA EXAMPLE

vlookup function

vlookup function

We want the value of label city to be appearing in the second column of the new datasheet. Here we are doing this using VLOOKUP function.
Open the VLOOKUP Dialog box using fx button on the toolbar.
Select the VLOOKUP function on the list.
Now the VLOOKUP dialog box will appear.

How to use vlookup function

There you will have four parameters as discussed above.
Now you need to fill the value in the tabs.
Lookup value: in our case A2
TABLE ARRAY:  In table array we need to select all the data from the master sheet. The address of the data will be shown in the dialog box.
Col_index_num: in this you need to enter the column no of which data you want on your new sheet. In our case it is 2.
Range_ lookup: we have used 0 for false. As we need exact data on the new sheet.

Now we have learnt vlookup formula with a example.
Thanks for visiting.

there is no disk please insert a disk error

please insert a disk error

How to tackle there is no disk Please insert a disk error here problem popup window.
We sometimes in our system face a problem of popup window which does not close at all. When you close that window it will again reopen in a few seconds, displaying the same problem. It’s a very irritating when working with this problem. Generally people solve this problem by dragging the window to the taskbar pane. But still the problem it not solved, it reduces the system speed too. And the other applications you will open may take time to start.

please insert a disk error

So we must completely get rid of this type of problem. It can be solved by editing the registry. But to use regedit is not a simple task like uninstalling a software . It requires a good command over the knowledge of how to edit registry.
First of all we must know about what is regedit is ? How it works?
Caution
Incorrectly editing the registry can cause to system damage so consult a IT professional before doing anything. You should make backup of the registry before you edit them.

What is regedit?
All the system configurations including all the software and application settings are stored in a database called the registry. It means it is the registry in which all the settings are saved in our system.

How to open regedit ?
You can open registry for editing or viewing the default key stored by a setting by opening registry using run.
1. Click on start button.
2. type regedit in the search box.
3.  A window of registry editor will open.

What are keys and Values?
The keys are just like folders in a tree.
Values are the number or string in which the setting of a particular application is saved.
So for a change we need to find the right key and we need to edit the respective Value.
Go to the following tree shown

HKEY LOCAL MACHINE
SYSTEM
CURRENT CONTROL SET
CONTROL
WINDOWS
Error mode
Now right click on error mode and change its value from 0 to 2 and change the base to decimal.

how to solve no disk error

The image of the registry editor window has been show for your convenience.

This will remove please insert a disk error. If this post solve your problem do comment.

Thanks for visiting my blog.
