How to configure outlook for gmail

In this article I am going to tell you how you can configure your gmail account with microsoft outlook for reading your mail directly on outlook. We all know that outlook is the default mail client in windows operating system and we can easily use outlook for mail. But if you have your mail account in gmail, then how you will you outlook for the mail service? There are two options: 

1) first is you need to sign up in microsoft account and then use outlook.
2) second option is to configure your gmail account in the outlook. 

In the first option you will have to tell your mail contacts that your email has changed. So its better to use the second option. When I tried to configure my gmail account in outlook it took me a lot of time. But I dont want you to do so. Therefore in this post I am submitting how you can configure your gmail account in outlook. Its a little bit tricky. But dont worry you will be able to configure outlook for gmail after reading my post. 

Step1. sign into your gmail account. Go to settings, click pop and forwarding tab and check the box enable pop for all mail. Now click on save changes

Step 2. Open microsoft oultook. Go to options in Tools menu, choose Mail setup tab and click Email accounts then click on New.

 Step 3. A new window will open where you will be prompted to choose email service. Check Microsoft Exchange, POP3, IMAP or HTTP. Click Next button.
Now fill the name, email id, password and click next. The window has been shown here


How to configure outlook for gmail

 Microsoft outlook will automatically detect the server settings. You don't need to set them manually. Now you can send email to all your contacts and new user easily from the outlook. You even don't need to sign in again for checking new email.

If you are having problems I am submitting manual settings also to configure outlook for gmail.

Incoming Mail (POP3) Server - requires SSL:     pop.gmail.com
Use SSL: Yes
Port: 995
Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server - requires TLS or SSL: smtp.gmail.com
Use Authentication:         Yes
Port for TLS/STARTTLS:     587
Port for SSL:         465

Server timeouts         Greater than 1 minute, we recommend 5

Full Name or Display Name:     [your name]

Account Name or User Name:     your full email address (including @gmail.com or @your_domain.com)

Email Address:         your email address (username@gmail.com or username@your_domain.com)
Password:     your Gmail password
